Biocides Analysis Service

CEMAS is able to provide the full range of analytical data in support of biocide registration. The Section is experienced in the provision and reporting of experimental data for submission of studies undertaken to satisfy the data requirements for registration of Biocides products within the EU as outlined in directive 98/8/EC.

Section Capabilities

The Biocides Analysis Section works in compliance with GLP.

Instrumental Techniques:

• Liquid chromatography is performed on Agilent 1100 Series liquid chromatographs with UV and diode array detection. LC-MS and LC-MS/MS can be performed on API Sciex 4000 series instruments.
• Gas chromatography is performed on Agilent 6890 Series gas chromatographs combined with FID, ECD, NPD, FPD and MSD detection systems.
• All chromatographic equipment is computer controlled with data acquisition and processing through Agilent Chemstation and PE Sciex Analyst (LC-MS/MS) software.

Storage Facilities:

• CEMAS is able to offer the full range of environmentally controlled conditions for the conduct of accelerated and long-term storage stability studies. All environmentally controlled storage facilities are subject to continuous monitoring.

Physico-Chemical Testing:

• CEMAS is able to offer the full range of testing for determining the Physical and Technical Properties of the Plant Protection Product in accordance with Directive 98/8/EC.
• Study design, protocol and reporting are tailored to satisfy the regulatory requirements using either CEMAS standard procedures and systems or specific customer requirements.

Other Services Offered:

• Analytical method development and validation, accelerated and long-term storage stability studies and CIPAC testing can be undertaken.
