CEMAS has over 35 years of experience in supporting customers in the registration of their biocidal products. We offer comprehensive biocidal product testing services and have successfully tested a broad range of formulation types in a variety of packaging types, at our GLP accredited facilities. Our advanced testing capabilities include method development and validation, storage stability, physical testing and chemical analysis to support the development, registration and market authorisation of a wide range of biocidal products, including disinfectants, pest control agents, and preservatives.

Why is Biocidal Product Testing Essential?
Biocidal products are designed to control harmful organisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, insects, and rodents. However, their use can pose risks to human health, non-target organisms, and the environment.
This is governed by the Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR); a critical framework that oversees the authorisation and use of biocidal products within the European Union (EU). Introduced as Regulation (EU) No 528/2012, the BPR ensures that biocidal products and other chemical products used to manage harmful organisms are safe for humans, animals, and the environment. This regulation therefore aims to improve the functioning of the biocidal products market in the EU, while ensuring a high level of protection for humans and the environment.
