Our Services – Agrochemical Residues
Environmental fate assessment
Agrochemical eFate Analytical Services
Understanding the impact of products on the environment
Environmental fate analysis plays a critical role in determining how agrochemicals behave in the environment after application, including their persistence, mobility, and potential impact on non-target organisms, ecosystems and human health. eFate analysis assesses how agrochemicals move, transform, and degrade in various environmental matrices including soil, water and air.
CEMAS has GLP-certified laboratories and an expert team that can help companies to understand the efate of their agrochemical products through a broad range of analytical services. Contact us to find out how we can help you meet regulatory requirements, support your product registration and ensure the safe use of your products in the environment.

What services do we offer?
Soil dissipation and accumulation
GLP studies and analytical phases to support the residue testing of soil samples from trial sites across the EU. This includes sample handling and preparation of soil cores and any application verification samples associated with the studies. We offer a fast turnaround of early sampling timepoints to assess analytical requirements for lower horizons, or to help decide early stopping points for sampling.
Groundwater monitoring
GLP analytical phases to support residue analysis of groundwater samples collected from sites across the EU. CEMAS has worked with partners to provide analytical data from sampling wells installed in multiple EU countries.
Air monitoring
GLP analytical phases for the analysis of air samples, for example to assess the dissipation of fumigants over time post application in field scenarios. Air method validation at elevated temperatures and humidity is offered at CEMAS in controlled facilities to ensure compliance with relevant guidelines.
Ecotoxicology analytical support
GLP analytical phases for analytical verification of dose solutions or samples/sample solutions as required to support ecotoxicology laboratory testing requirements. We also offer development and/or validation of analytical methods for water and specified media if required.
Run-off sample analysis
In collaboration with our partners, we offer GLP analytical phases to determine run-off from, for example, irrigation event simulation in field scenarios. This includes sample residue analysis for water, soil, sediment and vegetation.
Further analytical support
- Method development and modification
- Method validation and ILV
- Storage stability (frozen and chilled)
- Working with our trusted customs partner, CEMAS are able to assist with sample shipment to ensure a smooth process to get samples from EU field sites to our UK based laboratory. Contact us to find out more.
